Palm Springs: Blue Pear Texx Mexx Restaurant Review

The Blue Pear Texx Mexx

Definitely a fan – Nothing over $9.95 on the menu – A Palm Springs Must Eat Restaurant!

When we arrived we were greeted by Donald one of the owners, welcomed us all to The Blue Pear and informed us we would have a slight wait as the only table they had that is suitable for a big party was currently taken.

We headed into the bar to order drinks, I have to say I have rarely seen bartenders so eager and friendly.  After ordering our drinks we took a tour of the 6 room hotel just outside the back door, where there’s another bar with an equally as attentive and eager bartender.  The rooms are very well done, the owners turned an old Travel Lodge into a little hidden gem.

Donald kept updating our party on what was happening as we sat around the pool in one of the cabana’s with our drinks.  Our wait wasn’t that long at all, in fact I hadn’t even finished my first cocktail (I’m a drinker, so that says something), before we were seated.

The puffy tacos, grilled shrimp tacos and the chicken chicken fried steak were nothing short of amazing.  For $3.95 you can order a nice house salad, which isn’t your basic lettuce and a slice of tomato, it’s a full salad!

The blue pear margarita, AMAZING! (see attached pic), And I’m not a margarita kinda guy, give me a well poured Jack and Seven (which they did, twice), and I’m happy.

Our server Brandon was extremely attentive without being overbearing and in your face, I’ll definitely request his table on future visits.  Donald the owner also checked in on us frequently making sure everything was to our satisfaction, the Chef even came out and introduced himself to our table.  I’ll tell you this is a welcome change from the bad service we experienced during lunch at the ACE hotel (see my review on that one!)

My only fear is that it’s going to become so popular I won’t be able to get in to enjoy the food.

If you’re in Palm Springs or visiting Palm Springs and the surrounding cities I highly recommend you dine at the Blue Pear and tell them I sent you!
