FHA is constantly changing their lending guidelines. I would suggest that you speak with a lender local to you to find out what current guidelines are. While FHA might have their guidelines, banks add additional overlays (guidelines), that might be more stringent than what the FHA will allow.

Ed, I wasn’t aware there was a time frame difference between 10% and 20% down. Thanks for pointing that out. I have been told that fha requires 2 years after a chapter 7 bk, is that with 20% down as well? Thanks!

@ ewbrophy- No I haven't seen the rooms. The last time I was in town I stayed with friends and I've stayed at The Parker a couple of times. The Pool House intrigues me because it is so small and intimate, plus the restaurant attached sounds fabulous.

I was just in Palm Springs looking at homes with Patrick Stewart Properties; the next time I'm there I definitely want to stay at The Pool House. It's such a great looking place with great prices, it's perfect for when I'm visiting and looking for my dream vacation home. Plus I love the mid-century modern style. Can't wait for my next visit to Palm Springs and am so glad I came across your blog!
